I put my professional training aside when creating these little black-and-white squares. I use a smartphone app that is the equivalent of a toy film camera. This technical simplicity leaves me free to explore content and composition. The reward is often an unexpected revelation, for which I take full and mostly undeserved credit.

I am drawn to compositions that invoke questions. The only certainty here is that the questions are unanswered and, for me, this is the essence of humor and whimsy.

The images in the book are not in chronological order. They are paired as diptychs with shared thematic or visual connections, some more obvious than others.
